David Streeten obituary

David StreetenDavid Streeten, Allen High School Lacrosse Varsity Offensive Coordinator and Head Junior Varsity Coach, died On Monday, April 3, 2023. “It is with great sadness that the Allen High School Lacrosse family announces the passing of our junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach, David Streeten, who passed away on Monday, April 3, 2023,” said Allen Eagle Lacrosse on Tuesday.
His cause of death is unknown. David was raised in Corning, NY. David excelled in the sport because his father is one of the most famous high school coaches. Corning East High School in New York recognized David’s midfield and face-off skills. He won over 72% of high school face-offs.

David became Allen’s offensive coordinator and JV coach in 2015–2016. He focused on coaching younger athletes. He created the summer box lacrosse program for all club levels, opened it to surrounding clubs, and taught many private lessons.

David made the All-Senior Game, All-Tournament Team, and All-Conference First Team. He was on the All-Conference First Team. He was named team MVP for his offense. Streeten won a silver medal at the 2002 Empire State Games of New York with the Western Empire Team. David played face-offs for Division | Binghamton University hockey until a career-ending injury forced him to retire.

David earned a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing from Binghamton University in May 2008 after three years as a volunteer assistant. This English degree was in creative writing. David began his coaching career as a substitute teacher and then a freelance sports journalist for Inside Lacrosse Magazine and Lacrosse Magazine.
